Each month Reed Realty features a northwest Minnesota town and shares tidbits of information as well as links to resources for those who are new to the area. This month featured town is International Falls, MN
International Falls offers four seasons of fun with great local attractions, fishing, boating & shopping. Located on the Canadian border the Falls is a great place to call home or own a vacation home to spend summers on the lake and enjoy all the fun that winter brings.
One of the most well known beautiful, scenic views is that of Voyagers National Park featuring 200,000+ acres of stunning scenery of islands, campsites, interwoven rivers & streams, and wildlife. Boat tours offer trips to the historic gold mine districts and to the remote and historic Kettle Falls Hotel. Spend your day canoeing, touring the parks, biking, hiking, ATVing, or renting a houseboat.
Winter offers ice fishing, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing and more. Voyageurs National Park has snowshoes available so you may enjoy the beauty of nature in the “icebox of the nation”.
If you are visiting the area make plans to visit Smokey Bear Park and witness a 26 foot, 82-ton friendly face from International Falls. While in the park take some time to explore the Koochiching County Historical Museum and Bronko Nagurski Museum located in Smokey Bear Park. Learn about some of the history, including International Falls’ most famous son, NFL legend Bronco Nagurski and our borderland history.
The Falls Country Club is a great place to shoot a round of golf as well as catch a great view of the rainy river- offering an 18-hole championship course as well as a pro shop + restaurant.
There are plenty of outdoor recreational activities International Falls has to offer.
